Tips for Using GPS Land meter

Many first-time users of land surveying equipment often encounter issues with inaccurate or unsuccessful measurements. This may not due to equipment malfunction or usability problems, but rather a lack of correct usage skills:

1.No Signal or Weak Signal?
Our GPS land surveying equipment relies on satellite systems and cannot receive signals indoors. It is essential to operate the equipment in open outdoor areas. Before use, ensure the HDOP (Horizontal Dilution of Precision) value is less than 1.0 and remains stable for at least 5 minutes to achieve accurate measurements.

2.Why are the results different each time we measure?
The handheld GPS land surveying devices are designed for rough measurements, the different walking paths and varying plot sizes which may leads to differences. Normal errors range around 0.004 acres for plots with 0.16~0.5 acres and 1% for larger areas. be sure that you use the same walking paths and speeds during each measurement.

3.Significant Errors in Measured vs. Actual Area?
If there is a significant difference between the measured and actual area, consider the following:
①.Ensure measurements are conducted in open outdoor areas to avoid signal interference.
②.Avoid measuring very small areas where satellite systems may not detect the device's movement effectively. It is recommended to measure areas larger than 0.16 acre.
③Have you used the Correct Measurement Modes and Methods? Our GPS land surveying device offers multiple functions like:Normal area measurement, F/W area measurement, Fixed width area measurement, Fixed point measurement, Circle machine load, Round-trip machine load, Intelligent slope, Intelligent mountain measurement , Normal distance, Fixed point distance, Slope distance, Fixed point slope distance, Altitude measurement, and so on.
Choosing a right mode and method is important.
